Cuz I’m hungry. There’s no food in the house other than xmas food and thats all for xmas. Today, we starve.  We sit around, hollow-eyed and groaning, mouths watering to the aroma of cooking food. Food we are forbidden, by law, to eat until tomorrow. My kingdom for a hamburger. Not that my kingdom would actually buy a hamburger.

All day I’ve been picking. You know, sneaking into the kitchen when mom’s not looking, risking severe punishment in order to snatch a bit of cornbread (being used for the stuffing) or a pecan (I shelled the damned things, after all). I dipped into the fudge and the cheese-ball when no one was looking. Hell, even the foul congealed salad is starting to look purdy good.

Tonight is the gathering of the clan to open gifts. We’ll all be too weak from starvation to untie the bows with our shaky, withered fingers. I believe we’ll be allowed to have sweets tonight, so at least we’ll have a sugar buzz, if no actual nutritional value entering our bodies.

And tomorrow, of course, we’re going to gorge ourselves in a gluttonous feeding frenzy, a frenzy that is only heightened by our dreadful hunger. Someone, I suspect, is going to lose a limb.

So, R the P and Mojo, when I see you next week, don’t be surprised if I’m missing an arm or a toe or something.

You must be starving because we’ll see you this week. Wednesday to be precise. Check your email details.

And we had hamburgers today. Mmmm, hamburgers.

Well its according to whether you consider sunday the first day of the week, like a good little christian, or whether you consider it the last day of the week.

We actually did eat tonight. We got some BBQ from fincher’s, and my brother in law goaded me into drinking tequila shots whilst we injected the turkey with tequila and lime teriaki. So I’m no longer shaky from starvation. But I am drunk.

Happy Tahitimas, everyone. See what a nice warm friendly holiday Tahitimas is? Next year we MUST do it in Tahiti.

Love to everyone, and R the P and Mojo, can’t wait to see you.
