KK: Why is it so quiet in here?
Me: Because I’m reading.
KK: Why does it need to be quiet for you to read?
Me: So I can concentrate.
KK: I don’t like the quiet. I can’t do anything if its quiet.
Me: You should try it sometimes. Just a couple of minutes a day to be quiet. You might be surprised by your own thoughts.
KK: Monday wouldn’t be a good day to do that.
Me: Why not?
KK: Because we’re going to the movies. And Sunday won’t be a good day for it.
Me: Why not?
KK: Because I’m going to visit my daddy. And right now isn’t a good time either.
Me: Why not?
KK: Because - its our conversation time.
Me: But I’m reading.
KK: Its not a good time to read.
Me: Why not?
KK: Because its conversation time.

Me: It isn’t rocks, its dragon’s blood.
KK: Blood! Like from a real dragon?
Me: Yep.
KK: This is blood! Why does it look like rocks?
Me: Its dried.
KK: Can I touch it?
Me: Sure.
KK: I’m touching blood… ewwwwwwww. It smells good.
Me: Yes it does.
KK: Dragons must have some good-smelling blood.

Me: Yep
KK: I thought so. Nana says there aren’t any ghosts. Have you ever seen any?
Me: Yep.
KK: I’m not gonna be able to sleep tonight.
Me: Why not?
KK: There might be a ghost under my bed!
Me: Why would there be a ghost under your bed?
KK: You just said there were ghosts!.
Me: But not under your bed!
KK: Why not under my bed?
Me: For the same reason you wouldn’t be under your bed. You wouldn’t want to be under your bed, would you?
KK: NO!
Me: Well why not?
KK: Because there’s ghosts under there.

She got you there! Who would want to be under a bed with a ghost? Not even another ghost would want that.
KK is a lot of fun. A little annoying when I’m trying to read, but definitely fun. And you can’t fault her reasoning, can you?
That’s hilarious. I remember similar conversations with our kid. Except for the part where I respond … not much time for that with our kid.
Well thats because your kid’s a Gemini. Loquaciousness (loquaciocity?) comes with the territory, as anyone who knows me should know.
Ahhh.. Childrens’ logic. It never fails to annoy and teach.
I once had a four year old outreason me. Pure and simple. Left me standing puzzled for minutes. Wha.. Wha.. What’s failing in this logic.. It’s.. It’s true, but… it’s wrong!!!
