I think it's only fair that we refuse to recognize nature's meteor majesty when she's subjecting us to blast furnace temperatures. I mean, a few minutes in that heat and we could just denature into a pile of gloppy water. No sense in tempting fate. The meteors will be back some other, hopefully slightly cooler, time.

Yeah, that always happens to us with HP books, too. They're engrossing, and you are able to read the whole series now, so you can see what happens! Good idea to wait 'cuz it was torture waiting on each new book to come out over the years!

Agreed re the christians. I also found that Not Open on Sunday to Worship Jesus sign to be funny and bizarre. The religiosity stuff is bad all over, but it's particularly bad in the South where they have signs like that. So many of the people who agree with that kind of policy are just so stupid and boring. I can't imagine it. It would be like reverting to being 9 years old again. No thanks.

Yes, and Monday night we briefly considered gazing up at the Ga sky, but didn't want to get out of the air-conditioned car.

I'm on the 4th HP book now. Which is why I haven't written a goddam thing. I was going to write a long post about how much I enjoyed seein' y'all, then thought "Oh noes... whats gonna happen to harry?" and just kept readin'.

I realised just how little sense Christians make to me when we were in the restaurant Monday night, and saw that sign about how they wanted to take Sunday off to worship God.

Yeah, we tried to spend a few minutes gazing up at the GA sky, but even out in the country, it was too overcast. Well, those Perseids will need to be more obvious about what they do... unless they're trying to slam into the planet which I wouldn't like to see.

Sounds like you have some lovely Perseid memories. Can't say I've ever gotten any virgin meat by the light of falling stars, but I wish I had...

And we love Harry Potter. JK Rowling has created a great series, and she makes a real effort to show how their lives become more complicated and dark as they grow into adulthood. A series you can grow up with, no matter what the panicky christians have to say about it. They rarely make any sense to me anyway.

He, he... All episodes of HP start real, real slllowww.. And then they speed up like lightning and they get to you in my experience!!

Did you get to see any falling stars? I read about it and i entirely forgot about it.
But last week i saw the International Space Station; ISS speeding by! That's kind of rare! Like a speeding blimp; brightly lit by the Sun.
