Makes me think of pumpkin soup. Which I quite like.

But not today. It’s too hot out. Not Georgia hot. Or apparently Pheonix hot, where they had 29 days of heat about 110!

Even at a dry heat, that is pretty bad.

If you have pumpkin or acorn squash, it’s a decent substitute for butternut squash. Just don’t get the high sugar pumpkins… unless you want your soup sweeeeeeet! Mmmmm, butternut.

Yeah I had trouble finding butternut squash in england. I did get some ONCE - found it in Marks and Spencer’s.

I’m pretty sure you could find a reasonable substitute.

Wow, that sounds like an excellent recipe!

BTW, last night we were watching television for the few minutes we have together during the week (cry bitch moan). But wait, there’s more. Lo and behold, on a completely non-cooking channel we saw a glorious, fancy commercial for… BLENDER! Yes, BLENDER got its own ad on prime time (cable) TV. And it was a nice Blender, which you can see here. Why, you can even disassemble it to put the jar in the dishwasher … oh, such a joy that would be. You can even chop a huge bunch of almonds with it. I never get enough of that. Alright, I never do that, but I could if I wanted.
