Okay, most of you who know me, know that this has probably not been my worst day ever. I’ve seen far worse; but that was then. This is now. And right now, it feels like the worse day ever.

I woke up to a Trojan. And not the good kind of Trojan. Neither the latex kind, nor the chocolate Greek-filled bunny kind. No, the kind that does terrible things to one’s computer.

It took me fucking all day to remove that thing. I’m not even sure that I have. My last couple of scans have been clean, so we’ll see. But its just been exhausting.

I’m not the only person having a bad day. Out in front of my house, a school bus hit a car. Sent the car careening into my neighbor’s house. No one was badly hurt, and at least it wasn’t my house they barreled into.

I’m no longer using FireFox. Before you chide me, its a long story concerning Mr Trojan. But I’m not using IE either - I’d never stoop that low. I’ve gone back to using SeaMonkey, which was my favorite browser long before the world caught the Firefox bug. At first I couldn’t get it to install on this computer, but it looks like a lot of the clean-up I did rendered it installable. So yay. SeaMonkey. (see… I’m looking on the bright side).

Of course, because I’m no longer using firefox, I had to find a new blog editor. I tried wbloggar, but the interface wasn’t the most use-friendly I’ve tried. So I’m now trying out a Microsoft product. Using it is actually making me feel dirty, but so far its worked alright. This is my first post. If all goes well, I suppose I’ll be using some Microsoft software, and will need to be hosed down on a regular basis.

And I’m curing what ails me in the usual way. I’m baking cookies.

Oh no Che! Sorry to hear of all your travails! Well, enjoy the cookies at least.

Thanks Mojo. The cookies are some of the best I’ve made in a while, so I think that sort of balances out the travails.

And thank the gods that you didn’t have to stoop to IE. It’s really a horrific p.o.s.

I’m quite happy to be using seamonkey again. Its much faster loading than FF. It has the basic plugins I need - all the ones I used regularly on FF. If Richard’s FF still isn’t working, you might consider it as an alternative. There is a Mac version.

I’m so sorry you had a bad day.

But it looks like your bad day led to a reunion with a treasured old seamonkey.

    They’re the briniest, you know.
