I’m sure no one gives a crap how my polyphasics are going, but I’ll tell’ya anyway. I had to ditch the schedule for a while because while mom was in the hospital I was looking after KK, and KK can’t sleep alone. Which meant I had to sleep with her. You’d never think a 9 year old would be capable of stealing all the covers and pushing you off the bed, but you’d be wrong.
Anyway, polyphasics went on the back burner for a few days but now I’m working on getting back on the schedule. And kind of looking forward to it. I think I like polyphasic sleep more than regular sleep.
I like the fact that I sleep less, have more time, yet still get the naughtiness of napping during the day.
Steff sent me the final Harry Potter book, so guess who’s not going to be doing much posting for the next couple of days? I’ll be back when I’ve finished. Thanks Steff!
And for those of you who bemoan my absence, if you need a distraction that badly, just pop on over to the new forums and sign up. Even if you don’t need a distraction, sign up anyway so it’ll look like there’s more members. And make a post or summat.
Still a lot of work to do over there, but I’ve got the main bits built. Haven’t decided if I’m keeping the color-scheme. We’ll see.
Buy me a beer!

I know from when A the Girl was little and used to want us to sleep in the bed with her. I never wanted to do it because it was a nightmare.
She once kicked me in the head! I thought “What the hell are her feet doing up here?”
Of course, she would often wake up on the opposite side of the room, on the floor, upside down.
She got more exercise when she was sleeping than she ever did when she was awake.
I’d usually just lay there until she fell asleep and then leave.
Enjoy Harry Potter.
And I hope your mom is okay. She has been in and out of the hospital quite a bit lately. Tell her I’m thinking of her and hoping she feels better!
Not that she’ll care or anything.
Well mom has to make these periodic trips to the hospital because she has COPD, and - like HER mom - refuses to quit smoking. At least my mother - unlike HER mother - doesn’t smoke while she’s wearing the oxygen mask. That always used to terrify me.
Yeah sleeping with kids is hellish. Thankfully I didn’t get kicked in the head, but I did get kneed in the back. But then, I don’t even particularly like sleeping with adults. Blissfully alone is fine with me. Where I can have the whole bed to myself, plenty of room, plenty of covers… all the pillows. I don’t mind sleeping with Bea - she’s quiet and plump and easily mistaken for a pillow.
Sleeping alone is a pleasure, really. You can have a great relationship and still have separate beds. Rob and Laura Petrie knew what they were doing.
Your grandmothers oxygen smoke combination used to scare me as well.
I know it did. It scared everyone. People generally wore flame-retardant suits when they visited.
And I notice steff is the only person to have honored my request that you sign up for the forum.
Ahem.
Look, it isn’t difficult. Just a couple of fields to fill in, then it starts to look like there might actually be some members over there. And hey - I’ve got badger avatars.
Or will.
Tomorrow.
it’s ok; i’m also the only person who cares how your polyphasia is going.
really, i only signed up because i needed one more thing to keep track of. “lessee… has che said things at me via chat, email, SP, or the forums?” if i’m not having 4 distinct conversations on 5 or 11 different subjects at the same time, i’m not happy.
i AM looking forward with burning curiosity to sam’s first post. and i DO love the avatar i swiped. a pale redhead kneeling in front of a satyr? win!
Just signed up for the boards. I didn’t even wait for the badger avatars; I just added my own.
Hope your mom is doing OK, Che. COPD sucks. I used to have two clients with it. Like your mom, they refused to quit smoking. Thankfully, they didn’t have oxygen tanks.
Good luck with KK. I hate sleeping in the same bed with kids or even cats, but it is necessary sometimes. I prefer cats but only because they’re smaller and fluffier. And less annoying. Usually.
Sorry for the lack of action; lately allergies have been killing me which impacts sleep negatively on top of the sleep problems I already have! Sucks, but it could be worse.
BTW, enjoy the last Potter book Che! I am a little jealous that you get to go through the whole series in a short time frame, never having to wait a year or two to resolve the cliffhangers from the previous book!
Hate to hear you’re suffering from the allergies. I know how nasty those can be. I think mine are finally beginning to calm down. I hope yours do soon.
Thanks!
We should ALL be feeling better after the next full moon. I cannot believe I chose such an inauspicious time to do a major magickal undertaking.
But thats me.
Against the current. That’s Che!
Yep… always pushin’ that envelope.

that last thing was typed by cleto, who now won’t let ME type. he’s in a mood.
i like it, though. it sounds faintly navajo. maybe.
now we just have to make up a definition for it and use it everywhere, like we did with tifflejel. except that i forget to say that. *grin*
