I realize we don’t have an alternative holiday to Thanksgiving here on SP. We really need one, but it should still involve gluttony.

I hope everyone is having a good Thanksgiving.

I’m not.

I heard my first X-mas song of the season today, which brought me down. I really hate the holidays. It’d be nice if I could spend Tahitimas properly. In Tahiti, and preferably a long long way from any Christians or Wal-marts.

I’ve been in a pretty foul mood all the way around. I totally overdosed on chocolate last night. Which isn’t nearly as fun as it sounds, by the way. Endorphins are one thing but my pancreas over-reacted and I got really sick.

Tonight I got to watch Don ruin a perfectly good turkey. Doubly depressing. I love turkey, but no way in hell I’m going to be able to eat this abomination. I had a really lovely glaze prepared - a subtle, aromatic apple glaze. But I guess that was too furren fer the W.T. faction so it was voted out in favor of Worcestershire sauce, which I utterly despise.

I guess I should just be thankful they aren’t deep-frying the damned thing.

I’ll just eat the ham.

So I have a month or so of deep deep depression to look forward to. Those goddam gaudy christmas ornaments. The unforgivably bad music. The ersatz cheer and even more ersatz good-will-toward-men. There is nothing more vile and hateful than the christmas season. But at least there’s some good food in store, if we can keep Don from drowning it in Worcestershire sauce.

Sorry about the first Xmas song. I heard mine two days ago.

Yes, we’ll be having our Thanksgiving on Friday. We always do. My parents (and this year our daughter) will be coming here. Mojo and I will cook. We do it on Friday so that Thursday is not too overwhelming.

Sorry to hear you aren’t having a good time of it of late. We’ve been so busy preparing for everyone coming up here (not only cleaning, but painting rooms, rearranging furniture, you name it) that I’ve hardly had a moment to do anything — including posting on my beloved SP.

I figured that was okay, though. You Nanowrimers are busy writing elsewhere this month.

Hope the holidays aren’t too horrible. Mojo and I will be down there to spend some time with you next month! I’m looking forward to our annual Christmas Mexican Dinner!

    And to seeing you.

Yep. I’m looking forward to our annual Mexican dinner. Its always the bright spot in my otherwise dreary holidays. Always my star of Bethlehem. I think we end up eating more of those giant burritos than we do our xmas dinner.
