After our brief hiatus yesterday, we’re back online.

The migration to our new servers was reasonably quick and relatively painless. Thanks to our lovely hosts for that.

The site seems to be loading slowly this morning, but I’m sure it will improve once the migration is complete.

It was nice to have that little logo telling us that the site was going to be down and that they were moving it around.

Until later on in the afternoon when it just said “Can’t connect.”

But it was relatively painless. And I’ll get to those posts that you asked me to put up (Brainiac never looked so good!) as soon as I finish creating a test for my students.

I was impressed that the “this website is being moved” message even showed up on the feeds. It was very smoothly done, I thought. Such a move is always a hassle, so its nice to see a hosting service taking extra steps to make the move as painless as possible.

Well, this is how Brainiac looks in Smallville.

And just a hint - don’t create a test that’s going to take you all next weekend to grade. Give yourself a break.

Well, I can guarantee you that Brainiac does not look like that in the comics. I’m afraid you’ll be disappointed, but Brainiac looked like this when he first appeared.

He did change his appearance over the years, and not always for the better.

But Brainiac has a long and storied history. In fact, this is Brainiac’s 40th anniversary! Happy Birthday Vril Dox, um, Milton Fine, um, Pulsar Stargrave, er, whatever your name is this week! (and where is your little monkey?)

I’ll have to do a little searching, so that post may not be up until tomorrow, but I’ll be happy to share Brainiac with an unsuspecting public.

In Smallville he’s Dr Fine. Thats right… Dr FINE!

An I’m glad he doesn’t have those red bulbs on his head. Thats not attractive at all.

Pulsar Stargrave? Sounds like a Wiccan gone horribly wrong…. uh… wronger.

Pulsar Stargrave is a Brainiac gone terribly wrong.

Oh the 70s. Brainiac in flares and a headband.

  6. Che on March 30, 2008 2:25 pm

Oh, that last one was the ultimate wrong. Should be listed as a sin with all those other commandments.

But you’re spoiling! Save’em fer the post!

Point well taken! I’ll save all others for the Brainiac post!

    But first, those tests.

Must make test easy, so grading won’t be all consuming.

    Off to test make.
