I’m referring to tonight’s episode of Supernatural, which no one around here watches but me, so why bother discussing it at all?
In the vain hope that some lone Supernatural fan will wander by and dispel my isolation.
My favorite line from tonight, “You know what you’ve gotta do. You’ve got to go be gay for that poor dead intern.”
Lost started again tonight. Its on right now, but it began with Jack and Kate, so I almost immediately lost interest.

I had forgotten Lost was on again. I saw Tivo this morning had recorded it and I thought - hey! Looka there! Lost was on.
Haven’t seen it yet.
Was watching “30 Rock” instead. It may be my favorite show on television right now. Mojo and I laugh every single week, but it is laughter tinged with sadness because we know of no one else who watches it. So I feel your TV isolation pain.
But hey, with our update for Tivo we can record two things at once (something VCRs could do like 30 years ago — glad technology finally caught up with itself). So maybe I’ll watch Supernatural if they make people go be gay for dead interns.
Maybe I’ll even start watching Smallville again!
You couldn’t pay me to watch ER though. Isn’t that off the air yet?
No, you have Mojo to share 30 Rock with. (actually, I like 30 Rock, but I never know when it comes on).
True. We do have it to share with each other. Point well taken.
And they just moved it to Thursday at 9.30 on NBC. It was always on Thursday, but they’re moving it around.
huh. when i want plotlines like these, i just watch torchwood…
*flees for her life*
I have an awful confession to make. I wanted to love Torchwood. I was so glad that we had a sci fi show with a bisexual lead character. That was a dream come true. And lord knows John Barrowman (and several of the other stars) were a pleasure to look at
But . . .
The first series left me cold. It was like they didn’t know what they were doing. Hey! We’re Doctor Who, but we can fuck! Let’s do some fucking! Let’s have a person who kills people by fucking them!
Did I mention fucking?
And the relationships were weird. Characters did things that didn’t seem like rational developments for their characters. Everybody hated everybody. It was like watching a bad soap opera at times.
BUT
There was a lot of potential there. And my love of Doctor Who got me over the speed bumps, and I hear Series 2 took a lot of the problems with Series 1 and corrected them.
And the lovely James Marsters plays Captain Jack’s evil love interest. What is not to love there?
So in all, I was just disappointed with Series 1. Not enough not to watch it, not enough to rant endlessly about how they ruined Doctor Who (this isn’t the 80s after all!), but disappointed.
But if there is one thing I’ve learned over the past few years, it is how to deal with disappointment and move on.
So bring it on Captain Jack. Can’t wait to see Series 2.
A bisexual hero? I’m not buying it. Everyone knows bisexuals are evil. We can’t make up our minds so we want it all.
Evil. Evil I say.
You do make me feel a little better about missing it. Except for the part about the lovely James Marsters as the evil love interest.
Damn!
