Knowing the readers of this blog, I’m thinking you haven’t even noticed your lab settings yet. In Gmail, go to your settings. You’ll see a new tab called “Labs”. Click on it to find some experimental features that Gmail has been working on. Some of them are very useful, while some of them… well. Lets just say “Old Snakey”.
And while I’m sitting here, um… where’s Sarah Jane? And who the fuck is Charlie Jade and why the fuck would I want to watch him? His show seems ungodly boring.
Well, at least we’ve got Dr Who and BSG tonight.
Buy me a beer!

Unfortunately, last week was the series finale of Sarah Jane. Since they showed 2 episodes each week it is already over. they are currently doing series 2 now.
And the Doctor’s daughter really was the Doctor’s daughter. The fifth Doctor, Peter Davison’s daughter!
Okay. So why replace Sarah Jane with something so abysmal? We’re talking Friday night TV here. It should be quality viewing. Like D’anna in a bathrobe. Wet.
Thats quality.
I couldn’t agree more. Even I will concede that D’Anna in a bathrobe is high quality.
And didn’t Roslyn give a superb performance. When she found out that Baltar did indeed give over the codes to allow the invasion, she was shaking. Subtle and brilliant. Give that woman an Emmy!
Oh fuck yeah, Roslin tore it up last night. She was brilliant. I totally bought every inch of her performance.
Love her.
‘kay, is it just me, or are those cylon centurions kinda sexy?
…. so… its just me, eh?
Well I’m a sucker for a t-shaped visor and a strong silent type. You’d never have to worry about a cylon centurion wanting to “communicate”.
And I’m not even going to contemplate the interchangable parts and the longevity factor.
I don’t know if they are sexy, but I love that Baltar can’t even sit around without trying to stir up trouble. It wasn’t enough that there was a Cylon without his trying to make sure there were three different Cylon factors fighting!
i did, in fact, click on the gmail labs thingy. =p i was so underwhelmed that i ctrl-w’d me little self right back outta there.
bsg was great, i agree.
charlie jade’s concept could be interesting if i could figure out why the frack it was so boring. i couldn’t even get offended at the reference to inter-dimensional rape. let’s get on with the dicking about in alternate universes, already! perfectly good (if tired) basis, reasonably attractive male lead, and it still comes across as self-indulgent, late 80s, self-consciously trying to “say something” crap.
hmph.
I find the quick links useful, because anyone with as much crap in their gmail as I have could really use something like that.
A lot of the stuff in labs is stuff that should have implemented long ago anyway. But overall, I love gmail, and all things Google, Dark Master of the Cyberverse.
There was a concept? I couldn’t get past the cliched style of Charlie Jade in order to discern a concept. But I was distracted by… stuff. When am I not?
Boo to no more SJA! Didn’t watch the replacement show at all.
Yay to more Doctor Who, but boo to only giving his daughter a short singular episode. I would have preferred a longer introduction.
On BG, Roslyn rocks. Hand over the Emmy and shut up about the rest. D’anna in anything, good. I’d also like a short round of applause for the Hybrid who had to spend her days on the set immersed in murky white water, shouting “JUMP!” every now and then. She’s a trooper and I like her voice.
Not sure I’m with you 100% on the Toasters, Che, but I’m willing to be persuaded. You make valid points: I hadn’t considered the interchangeable parts angle, nor the all-important silence angle.
I quickly perused the Google Labs Dark Overlord Gift List and found several of their improvements will be useful to me! Nice… Thanks for the update.
wait, what??
i think i got the defective google labs page. i recall nothing even slightly dark there.
bah.
I think I had a misplaced modifier there. It’s just Google who are the Dark Overlords. And we serve willingly.
(Hahaha… I accidentally typed “Dark Loverlords” at first… That would be a whole different kettle of fish!)
Ooooo… Dark Loverlords. Who couldn’t use a few of those, eh?
I can! I can!
