I go back and forth between the healthy method, and the unhealthy method, of boosting my creativity and brain-power.
The healthy method includes brain-foods like Ginko Biloba, Huperzine A, L-Theanine (read: lots of tea) and vitamins. Add a dollop of exercise and a pinch of meditation and voila! instant creativity.
Except it isn’t working.
Physically I feel better, and I have more clarity, but I’m not sure clarity is really what I need. So I’m experimenting. Nothing wrong with experimenting is there? Especially when the experiment involves lots of tequila, coffee, and dough-nuts.
I’m willing to under-go this painful experimentation for your sakes, my writer friends. I’ll let you know which is more conducive to the creative process - living healthy, or living a vice-filled life. My money’s on the vice.
Buy me a beer!

Che, I really appreciate your going through this for us! It’s truly a self-sacrificing friend who would take on tequila and doughnuts for us. I hope, in the end, that your hard work will pay off for you! As a society, we shall all be grateful for your diligence and self-sacrifice.
After the experiment is over, can I have your left-over doughnuts?
Well, you know me. I’m a self-sacrificer of messianic proportion.
And of course you can have the left-over dough-nuts. Its nice to see other people willing to submit to such strenuous experimentation for the good of others.
I try to do what I can for the betterment of society…
Tequila filled doughnuts.
Mmmmmm.
