Sour Cream Pound Cake

I use this recipe for pound cake sometimes. Its a heavy, rich cake with a buttery flavor and it forms a nice crust on the tip. Y’all know how I love the crusty part on the top of a pound cake. This is a fairly simple recipe, as pound cakes go, and its hard to fuck up.

3 cups sugar

3 cups plain flour (sifted)

6 large eggs

2 sticks butter (room temp)

8 oz sour cream

1/4 tsp baking soda

2 tsp vanilla

1 tsp almond extract

Cream butter and sugar, add sour cream and baking soda (I usually sift the soda in with my flour, but this is how my gramma has it written out) And flour and eggs alternately, while beating the mixture, mixing well after each addition. Add extracts. Pour into a tube pan that has been greased and floured. Put in cold oven and bake 1 to 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees.
