The Shattered Prayer

I spilled tequila on my keyboard today. Is that bad? I mean, it can’t be any worse than all the cat-hair adhered to my keys. And hey, the tequila might even eat through some of the cat-hair and make typing easier.

Mojo and I went to the bookstore today to get some books. When we got there, the check out line was nearly to the back of the store (the check out is up front). We asked a worker what was going on and she said that their lease was up and they decided not to renew.

I hope everyone had a happy Tahitimas! Its been awfully quiet around here for the holidays. Thats mainly because R the P has been down here, so hasn’t been posting, and also because I’ve been not only doing holiday crap, but have also been doing some extra work to raise money to renew our hosting. .

Mojo told me some sad news when I got home.  Brett Somers died today.  But, her son, Alan Klugman, said, “She maintained her independence till the end, and her irreverence.  She died very much at peace.” and that made me very happy.  She was a beloved part of my youth and I am very glad to hear that in the end, she kept living life on her own terms. 

I used to get so excited by the meteor showers. I still get excited, but there’s nowhere in this neighborhood thats unlit, unless I want to go to crack-alley, which could be exciting, but not the kind of exciting I’m looking for.

Several posts ago, I promised a three part look at one of my favorite comic book characters, Captain Marvel, Jr. Here at last is the third of that three parter. I’ve talked about the things that made Captain Marvel, Jr. great, and now I’ll talk about what makes him odd. Everyone’s got their oddities, and his happens to be fish.

Now don’t get me wrong. I actually like Jehovah’s Witnesses. I might be the only person on earth who does, besides the Jehovah’s Witnesses themselves. The reason I like them is because my favorite aunt and uncle when I was growing up were Jehovah’s Witnesses. I know a lot about their religion, and its not as scary as most people think it is.

My problem is people knocking on my door without an invitation. I don’t care what religion you are, get off my damned doorstep. Its just an unfortunate coincidence that Jehovah’s Witnesses do this more than other religions.

I used to collect Tarot Decks. I think its pretty obvious from my posts that I love Tarot. I love divination with the Tarot, I love using the Tarot for meditation, and I love the artwork. At one time, I had over 200 decks, some of them quite rare and valuable.
