I never wrote about Michael’s story on Lost, so here goes. But something far more important is happening tonight. Sarah Jane Smith, erstwhile companion of the third and fourth Doctors (and who has been known to hang out with the tenth) has the U.S. premiere of her show tonight! I for one, will be watching.

Well, Supergirl was dead (along with all all these people — that Crisis was rough). But, as I said in the last post, it was hard to keep a good woman down, so it was only a matter of time before Supergirl was resurrected. Even if it was as a blob of strawberry jelly.

I looked into this ancestry thing as a gift to my father.  Who knew that it would be such a gift to me as well?  I am royalty, people!  That’s right, Queen Elizabeth II and I are cousins!  It really doesn’t matter that we are 9th Cousins, 3 times removed.  I could still be king — if most of England and a lot of the U.S. dies.  But if they do, I could reign as King Richard IV!  (Kings named Richard are usually good for England aren’t they?  Winter of discontent and all that?  Anyone?)  And my exciting connections don’t stop at Liz.  I’m related to all sorts of interesting people!

Our daughter has gone off to college, and that has brought mixed joy and sadness, but one unexpected recipient of sadness is my father.  Mojo and I had long planned to have another child, this time by surrogacy.  My father has been more excited about this than either of us.  I’m his only male child and he desperately wants to pass along that Y chromosome.  But now that we have a child-free existence, we’ve put those plans on hold.  My father is crushed.  So for his birthday I decided if I couldn’t give him his genetic future, I’d give him his genetic past.

I should be in bed, but I’m waiting for my bedclothes to get out of the dryer (where they will be toasty on this Fall night — I know it is summer, but it is 63 degrees outside right now and it was in the 50s yesterday!  Far cry from “every day is like a Sun-day” down in the south.  Temperatures over 100 every day is no way to run a region of the country.)  So while I wait, I thought I would post my favorite Tallulah Bankhead story.

I used to get so excited by the meteor showers. I still get excited, but there’s nowhere in this neighborhood thats unlit, unless I want to go to crack-alley, which could be exciting, but not the kind of exciting I’m looking for.

Hi to everyone who is just joining the ‘thon on the B-schedule. 9pm PST to 9pm tomorrow night. Wow, you guys have a looooong way to go.
I’m a little too late to get in on the ‘I will survive’ contest, but I’ll share my secrets for surviving the Blogathon.

Continue reading “Hello to all the B-schedule folks!”

With a cliche no less. But hey, its early. The Blogathon has officially begun, and I have twenty-four grueling hours ahead of me, but I’m determined to do it. I’ve made some special adjustments to the blog for the duration of the ‘thon.

No stone penises.
