Well, it has been a little more than a day since my last story. Too much to do at work. But I finally have the next installment. This is not an official title. It is a title that sprang from a conversation with Che Rex. But it was a title that I thought had promise. I did not have as much time to edit this one, however, so please forgive any awkward turns of phrase.

When choosing the title for the Story a Day (really, three stories a week), two titles came out, neither one of them that inspiring — The Cardboard Doll or The Butterfly Wars. Our instructions were to write two different stories, choose one, or combine the titles. I choose the Cardboard Doll, but gave a little shout out to the other title.

It’s been a while since we heard from Bas. I know that, unlike many of us, he actually does stuff. You know, out there… in reality. He’s been busy with his synths, and I know that’s something he enjoys, so I’m happy for him even if it means we don’t get to see him as often.
